Important information from state Special Olympics and Tennis For Fun!

Tennis For Fun will be CANCELLED through March 31, 2020.

In light of the ongoing global concern regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want you to know we are doing everything we can to be proactive in protecting our athletes, volunteers, coaches and the entire Special Olympics community. Special Olympics Florida, with the guidance of Special Olympics International, is monitoring the situation very closely. Due to the particular risks our athletes may face, due to increased risk of respiratory conditions, pneumonia and death from influenza, we have decided to postpone/suspend all sports training and competition activities and other events involving our athletes through March 31, 2020, at which time the situation will be reevaluated.

March 21st- Area 5 Tennis (Postponed to April 4th)

ALL PRACTICES SHOULD BE SUSPENDED UNTIL MARCH 31st!

2019 North American Tennis Championship

Four Tennis For Fun athletes recently competed in the 2019 Special Olympics North American Tennis Championship held at Hilton Head Island South Carolina. There were 148 special Olympic athletes from 11 states competing in tennis.

A Visit from Bill Hannigan

Bill Hannigan, a Tennis representative from USTA Florida, visited the Brandon Tennis for fun clinics on Friday and gave a wheelchair tennis demonstration! A special thank you to Bill and his wife Jackie for sharing their love of tennis with our athletes!

Tennis for Fun Tuesday – Pizza Hut Fundraiser

The first Tuesday of each month is Pizza Night for Tennis for Fun! Simply order pizza at your local Pizza Hut and give them the code: 1034. Up to 20% of all the orders placed with this code will be donated to TFF. Orders may be placed all day long by phone, in person or online. Many Pizza Huts throughout the country are participating so spread the word to friends and family!
